Just a note for anyone looking for a guide to Grand Manan.
My partner and I spent a half day with Roger Burrow and came away enriched with his knowledge of birds that extended beyond mere identification. He never tired of giving us insights into the ways of the birds, minutae of naming and conservation status.
As an added treat we learned about the vegetation, and history of the island with embellishments of well, personalities.
From the start, Roger set up a feeling of ease and was never hurried. It was a brilliant day.
That does indeed sound like a delightful day. Learning about vegetation as well as the history of the island would indeed be wonderful I enjoy the island every time I visit but know so very little about it. How did you set up a day like this, might be something to add to my bucket list.
