Downy Woodpecker This guy was at our feeder last week and seemed unable to feed himself. The female was feeding him and it was lovely but sad. There appears to be a growth on the top of his beak ?

I believe it is a juvenile male Downey and Mom is feeding him.

Thanks. I was also wondering about what seems to me to be a growth on the top of his beak.
