Glossy Ibis (Ibis falcinelle) Today near Darling's Island

Darling’s Island at Nauwigewauk (between Quispamsis and Hampton has been in the news over the past couple of weeks because the assess road to the island at Nauwigewauk has been totally inundated by the flood. However the water level has dropped dramatically in the past two days and the roadway is now high and dry as if nothing ever happened (except lots of debris in fields and roadsides).

I took a drive there earlier this afternoon and found a GLOSSY IBIS feeding very close to the road just past the old Nauwigewauk Fire Hall. The ibis was on the right, adjacent the partly-flooded ball field. It was feeding along the edge of the water with several MALLARDS, AMERICAN WIGEON and BLACK DUCKS.
