Yesterday morning (April 16th) Dianne MacFarlane spotted two Greater White-fronted Geese with a number of Canada Geese in a field in Roachville, just outside Sussex. She was on her way to work and didn’t have the opportunity to communicate online.
Yesterday afternoon the birds were still feeding and resting in the field but were on the far edge of the Canada Goose flock, a bit further away from the road. Both were resting quietly and were quite hard to pick out when not standing up.
These birds appear to be of the North American subspecies frontalis, with pinkish beaks.
The birds were on Route 890 in Roachville in a field on the east side of the road, opposite Armdale Farm, civic # 393.
