MUTE SWANS (Cygne tubercule) - Saint John, NOT Tundra

Just had a call back from Paul Mansz. The two swans at the Saint’s Rest sewage lagoons are actually MUTE SWANS (Cygne tubercule) and NOT Tundra Swans. The group was able to get a closer look without pressing the birds and they are Mute Swans.

Mute Swan is still considered a wild species in NB; the few individuals seen here have been considered strays from an expanding wild population along the Atlantic seaboard and further inland.
