Paul Mansz is leading a small field party of Saint John Naturalists Club members this morning at the sewage lagoon at Saint’s Rest Marsh. They just discovered two swans they feel are probable TUNDRA SWANS (Cygne siffleur) resting in the un-agitated lagoon there. The birds will be distant but can be viewed from Route 1 to the west of the lagoon.
A scope will likely be helpful to view these birds.
Thanks for sharing Jim!
Update: These Swans were determined to be Mute Swan. They were seen in Lancaster lagoon yesterday. Not seen at that location today [May 14/18] but were relocated in the lake at The Rez.
