My son has a friend on the Salem Road, rt 910 it goes west up the hill as you come out of Hillsborough (a slight jog across from Gray's Island Road).

Their house is just after the covered bridge, use to be between the covered bridges but a snow plow took the second one out.

Some might remember this as the site of the Painted Bunting soooo many years ago.

Anyhow...the bird activity there is phenomenal.  Warblers, orioles, nighthawk, grouse, thrush, bluebirds, and then there's all the birds that come to their feeders.

I'd love to spend a couple hours there just before dark with a good birder.
