I forgot to say that it was chasing squirrels and grackles.
It's a Sharp-shinned Imelda and looks like a mature male. If you check the photos showing the face, you will notice that the light area does not stretch the entire way across the nape. This gives the bird a hooded look. If it were a Cooper's, that line would have extended across the nape which would have given a capped look. The photo of the tail shows[even on a bit of a slant] the outer tail feathers are the longer; again consistent with a Sharpie. Your photos are beautifully done!
