As most of you probably know by now, the royal Canadian Geographical Society has unveiled the Gray Jay as its pick for Canada's national bird. I for one hope that the government adopts this recommendation. Here is a favorite photo of this species that my trailcam captured in 2012 at my camp;

I was very glad to hear this.  They were my top pick all along.  They pass through our yard every year but the Blue Jays seem to chase them off.  I'd actually prefer having the Gray Jays around.

I had many Gray Jay sightings last week in western Charlotte County during our annual deer hunting trip.  Nice to see!
