Found a mini wetland in the Miramichi Retirement Village.  It consists of series of ponds with nesting boxes throughout.  There was a good variety of waterfowl there in the middle of the day!  I recognized most of the birds, thought this was a mallard at a distance.

Difficult to say. The size of the bird would have been a good indicator, green-winged teals are quite a bit smaller than mallards.

It was a lot smaller than a mallard, Christopher...just learning my ducks.  Now that I've found a Marsh, I'm seeing a lot of them.  Thanks so much!
