Following on Chris's success at Hyla Park (Fredericton) yesterday I visited there today (April 14 2012). Lots of insect activity. Here is one of the characters:

GORGEOUS Tony! Very exciting too. I have only seen this species twice, although it is probably only "uncommon". This is Calvia quatuordecimguttata, aka Cream-spotted Lady Beetle or "Polka-dot Ladybug" cf John Acorn's Ladybugs of Alberta. Wonderful record!

This is a highly polymorphic species. Below are the two colour forms I have encountered to date, although your colour form is likely the most common in our region.

I've only seen one, and it came to my light in 2010. Since everyone seems to be throwing in their of images of this species, here is mine:
