First Tiger Beetles of the year for me. These were seen off the Evans Road in Minto, May 7, 2018.

The first I believe is a Boreal Long-tipped Tiger Beetle, Cicindela longilabri. I think it got its name from the first image.

Second is the old regular Six-spotted Tiger Beetle, Cicindela sexguttata. Has a friend along for company. Luckily for the friend, it wasn't invited for diner.

.... and Mr. 6-spotted and friend ....

Nice.  I'm not familiar with them, but the friend looks like a velvet mite?

I'd seen those little red mites before but couldn't remember what they were. Was hoping someone would come to the rescue ... thanks Danny!
