Not the first Mourning Cloak butterfly this year, but the first for me. My earliest image is 25th of April, 2012. Took this with my 90mm macro from about a metre away. Oh, I also saw an azure, but it flew away before I could get a look. 2 May 2018, between the DNR facilities and Knowledge Park Dr, Fredericton.
I really enjoy seeing these beauties. Thus far, I've not seen one, nor Mustard White or Eastern Comma...high water prevents getting to the areas I usually see them.
Great to see the butterflies around! Lovely capture Chris!
