Pulsatilla vulgaris is native to Europe and as the common name suggests it blooms in Europe around Easter, but here it is a bit later.  Normally purple in colour, this is a red variant.  Given the right setting it will freely re-seed around the area, but unfortunately for me it doesn't seem to do that.
