Spotted Beet Webworm (Hymenia perspectalis) 801279 / 5169 at Cormierville, Kent Co., 9 October 2017

Martin Turgeon reported a couple of October specimens from the n.w. corner of the province (see HERE) which seem to be the first records for the province. This one is a first for me. Perhaps a migrant from further south?

WTG, Stu! One I've not met yet. Home from Quebec and seeing a few moths this evening...nothing great so far but am always hopeful.

Thanks, Jo. A perfect night here - warm, calm, cloudy - but only two moths out there. One is a Lithophane of some kind and the other a Common or Soybean Looper. Great Horned Owl calling away across the river.
