Salamanders have the ability to regenerate it's tail or limb if it happens to be severed by a predator. It will, for example, squirm vigorously to shed it's tail at the point where it is being held. I had never seen evidence of this before, but I may have found one this afternoon that is regenerating it's tail. Or, it may be some kind of defect. Any comment or input is most welcome.
