Still having problems adding Pic & a comment.  I took the picture below in Jemseg today.  I think its a grebe, perhaps a female.  It was with a another bird that looked similar but with head all black with mohawk on top also black.

in my book there seams to be 2 species of glaucous gulls, one being glaucous and the other glaucous-winged gull,the glaucous the largist gull yellow eyes and FROSTY white wing tips.the glausous-winged has gray primaries and dark eyes

hi,joanne,i just found the info,that i needed on the ring-bill gull,the sibley guides to identifacation of north american birds,and variations in immature ring-bill gulls,lots of variations

What bird is this? It has been hanging around the fields in Sheffield/Jemseg.  Is it a Harrier?
