I heard the Blue Jays in the backyard going crazy and I ran grabbed my camera looked and saw him for only a second and couldn't get a good photo I hope he comes back
Northern Shrike is a good bird for you to research. It is a songbird but is one that preys on other songbirds. It's nickname is "Butcher Bird". This should make clear Nathan's meaning in his response.
As a songbird, Northern Shrike does have a lovely song which I have been fortunate to hear on two occasions.
A Gray Jay is quite friendly whereas the bird you photographed is quite the opposite! That is a Northern Shrike. If it does stick around, it will eliminate a few of the birds around your feeders. I mean eliminate too. Look up some other photos of the species and pay close attention to the hook at the end of its bill.
