I came in from the shop and my 6 year old had been playing with my camera. He took them by himself.
This is the house the Downy Woodpecker sleeps in, quite possible what he was interested in.

Well there is nothing better for him to participate and I am sure he will learn a lot and become a naturalist like his dad.  No life like it.  My kids were involved at a young age in my trecking and they have turn out well and appreciated nature a lot more now that they are adults.

Hey Gerry, He's a better birder too.  Better eyes and better ears.  He's always the first to spot new arrivals.  He loves this site, watches the slide show all the time.  Sharpens his birding skills and he's practicing his reading too.  (clicks info for the ones he doesn't know).  He used to hide it from his friends but now a few are taking bird pictures on their iPods and sharing them.

Here's a picture of the same bird house on a different day, he's a surprisingly late riser.  It takes him a long time to venture forth, maybe it's because there's a hawk waiting?
