I had first spotted this snowy owl on April 11th while driving westbound on Hwy 2, near Jemseg. It was being mobbed by crows on top of a large spruce.
The following Wednesday April 18th, I spotted the owl again, this time while driving east towards Moncton. I made sure to bring my long zoom camera this time. This is my very first sighting of a snowy and I'm still quite excited about this ; )

Thanks Jimmy! It was some luck to have seen it two weeks in a row while driving. I looked for it again on the following Wednesday (April 25th) while driving west on hwy 2 and then on my return trip. The highway closed due to flooding the day after and remained closed for a week and I didn't see the owl again in the weeks after.

The snowy could have moved on shortly after April 18th. I hope it's okay after hearing that some had been rescued by the wildlife institute.

Congrats Gabriel! I keep looking every time I drive by there but I don't have your luck.

Thank you very much everyone. The pressure is finally off to see one for myself after admiring other folks' great photos on this site. I was following updates on a Snowy Owl that settled in the Caissie Cape area a few years back, but didn't take the time to go see it. Caissie Cape is only 40 min. from my home and I kicked myself in the butt for some time for not going.

Then I got a tip this past winter that one was being seen near the Saint John harbour. I made a few attempts during my travels to see it, but it was not to be.

But sometimes you can see interesting things where and when you least suspect it as happened to me last month. I was driving to Fredericton for work as I normally do on Wednesdays and finally spotted a bird that has eluded me for years. ; )
