Polychaete Worm

Started this discussion. Last reply by Ben Phillips Apr 17, 2011. 2 Replies

I found a Polychaete Worm on Denis Beach this afternoon in a vernal pool.  It seemed to be releasing eggs or sperm.  It was about 8" long, iridescent green and had almost 200 legs per side.  The…Continue

Blue Chanterelles (Polyozellus multiplex)

Greetings,Found a clump of blue chanterelles last week near Sackville in a young red spruce forest.  Although widespread, this species is rare.  It seems to be especially rare in the Maritimes as I'm told only one record exists from NS, and it is 60 years old.  The clump I found dropped its spores since last week and is in decline now.  Perhaps other folks could keep your eyes open in spruce/fir stands for this species. If you carry on to…See More

Thanks for the info on the tidal bore. We did notice that the old wharf is now showing just east of Bore Park and the river banks are certainly getting changed by the crash of the waves after turning a bend. The video is very similar to what we saw at that same location.  We were amazed at the size of the blocks of ice which followed the bore. Thanks again

BTW, now that we are"friends", you can now e-mail me via the message function, which is available on the left side of your page, or via the inbox under your name on the upper right hand side, whether I am on the site or not. Glad to hear you made it back OK and I hope you don't necessarily get to try out your snow quincy, although that might be pretty neat.
