"Thanks Joanne & Stu.  I had to stay up late to get it. You can't get much of an idea of the size from the outdoor shot.  I cooled it down and took another shot with a cm ruler for scale."

"If you do feel that it is a masked chafer you might want to collect one and have it IDed.  Cyclocephala sp. beetles are not recorded to be in N.B.  The "mask" refers to a darkened area between the eyes."
