Hi David,

I went to check out Taylor Road (2nd time) this morning hoping to see a Spruce Grouse, but no such luck :-( ....   yet ;-)  I'll keep trying.  Anyway,  while I was there, I was happy to see two Gray Jay which I don't get to see very often.  Also, I saw a Northern Shrike - well, I think that's what it is.  I'm waiting for someone more experienced than I to confirm the ID.  I think it's a juvenile, brown form Norther Shrike. It was pretty far away, but here are two pictures of that bird.   Carmella

Yes I am astounded at the intelligence of crows and other black birds in that family. While golfing in PEI (Crow Bush) they would watch us leave the golf cart to walk onto a green. That was their cue to ran sack the cart. There was no problem opening a zipper on the golf bag and pulling out a sandwich. Another group had their car keys stolen from the golf cart cubby, and had to get new ones made.

Thanks Dave, loving the photos.  Connie suggested i try this site and it is awesome...I am enjoying my feeders this winter and so far have a Carolina Wren and White Breasted Nuthatch at the feeders as well as the regulars.    Connie also showed me how to build a brush pile and so I am now waiting for the sparrows to arrive to it although the wren  and the squirrel sure seem to enjoy it..

No problem David. You can make the screen a little larger if trouble reading:

If you hold down the Control Key and ...:

<Ctrl> + plus sign  ... makes it a little bigger each time you do that

<Ctrl> + minus sign ... makes it a little smaller each time you do that

<Ctrl> + 0 ... resets it back to normal

... or you can click the View menu at top .... then 'zoom' ... then you can see what to press in there to do the same thing.

Taylor Road Salisbury

Was just talking to the Department of Natural Resources and the Taylor Road is closed until it dries up. The road is posted just past the Cochran pit and we can go no further unless you have a camp or leased property out there.
