January 1, 2018 at 6pm to March 31, 2018 at 7pm
About 6 years ago, Nick Hawkins from Fredericton began working with Juan Carlos Cruz of the Tambor Tropical hotel in Costa Rica to develop the birding resources of the area into sustainable tourism for this usually bypassed area of Costa Rica.  Four years ago, I became involved and have worked to encourage NBers to go.  In 2015, we had 10 couples in two tours.  Last year, the weak $CAD made it more difficult so we did not run any tours but did guide those people that did come. I continue to…See More

Meet at 277 Douglas Avenue (Museum Collections building) at 7:50 a.m. This will be an excursion to find as many spring arrivals around the Greater Saint John area as we can in the morning. We’ll condense vehicles and visit a number of birding hot spots in the area to see who’s back this spring. Bring binoculars, field guide(s), and a notebook and be prepared to see some “firsts” for the spring. We’ll go rain or shine unless the conditions are absolutely terrible. An optional sign-up sheet will…See More
