American Redstart ....

Dwayne mentioned these pictures so I went searching and found them.I guess I will post them all but if too many they can be deleted.Anyway one sunny morning I was sitting in the garden and saw this little cutie robbing some nesting goodies from a quilt that was hanging on the neighbors clothesline.I had to crouch behind a tree to get the pictures. She did see me and gave me a look over but I guess she didn't find me a threat because she just kept coming for more ... lol.…

Big Red meets Red-Tail ....

Hubby was out on the dirt bike and this hawk came to check him out(I think a red-tailed male).Hubby said he did not seem injured but was not fearful of him or the bike even with it running,he did not get too close to those claws and beak though.Hubby said he stayed there for a while and made no move until he was a ways away from him. These are a few pictures he took ... notice how close he is to the bike.I am so jealous of my husband ... maybe I need to get a dirt bike too .... :)…

So enjoyable to see lots of young birds while on walks and even some in our own garden.

Crows stop by for a peanut and the young ones yell to get thier's first...

Laura, I didn't thank you for welcoming me to the group.  I am not sure this is the place for me as I am much a novice and don't have a DSLR camera.  But I love watching the birds and have quite a variety in my yard.  I am so impressed with the variety of birds and excellent photos.  I'm not sure where to go to get used to looking other than my own back 40.

I am not really able to travel the province but south eastern area is in my realm.

Any guidance would be great.    Thanks,  Barbara

Hey Laura, You do have a lot of great and unique hummer pictures, have you ever considered an album just for them?  I'd enjoy that slide show.

Laura, those photos don't look like they are taken by a 'novice', they are amazing :o)  I love to see birds in natural surroundings and not just on feeders.  I try my hardest to take photos in that way but it's not always easy.

Beautiful photos Laura - I can tell lots of time and patience have gone into taking them.

Looking forward to seeing more :o)
