An uncommon carpet - Xanthorhoe abrasaria Hodges#7370 at Cormierville, Kent Co., 18 July 2018

When I look through a complete list of all the 'carpets' known from NB I always think I must be overlooking many species at my lights. I was guilty of largely ignoring carpets during my first season or two of mothing because I found them so difficult and I think I still tend to look right past them if there is something else to look at. I rarely look at them critically. This one popped out at me last evening. Even though it isn't much to look at it screamed 'NEW' to me when I fixed my eyes on…See More

Hey Stu, How many days until you'll be at New Horton?  You must have started the count down to Hawk Migration?

Hi Stu, it was really nice to meet you as well. I've heard your name so many times since bird watching and nature watching more seriously (like some kind of legend, or something..Heh Heh!) I'm glad to finally have met you in person and hope to run into you again sometime in the field.

Cheers!

Gabriel

Hey Stu, Is my memory correct and many years ago you were interested in a very long handled butterfly/dragonfly net?  The next time you're in Canadian Tire/Zellars/Walmart, check out the pool skimmers, the one that came with out cheapo pool has a 3 piece handle about 5 ft closed and 15 ft extended.  It's very strong as you have to push it around the water, it's 3 years old now, soaks all summer in a salt water pool and still works like new.  We'd have to figure a way to attach your net to the end, but I think it'd be easy enough.

Hello Stuart,

My name is Chris Kennedy and I'm a birder who regularly travels between NS and NB. I'm currently employed with a consulting company in Halifax and working with John Kearney on some birding projects. I have a rather unusual request of you and if you could e-mail me at cjkennedy@mun.ca or ckennedy@cbcl.ca we can discuss further.

All the best,

Chris Kennedy

Hi Stu,

Welcome to the group! Lots of things to figure out (technical stuff, mostly), but this is a very interesting platform and appears to have a great amount of potential. Please let me know if you have any questions/comments/suggestions to improve the function of this group page,

Cheers!
