"I've never managed to actually see my Hermit Thrush. He/she can be heard very early in the morning and at dusk only it seems. I have much open fields here and forest. They have been checking out all the houses I have put up. Although…"

"Hi Ted, here's a link to a bird bath heater that I've had since the yearly 90's although it was not in use for about 20 years but still works to this day.  It's a NELSON Blue Devil bird heater....no not solar but a dandy if…"

"Hey Ralph - It's about 50 yards or so from the house and across a driveway. I may just move it closer to the house but thought I should exhaust the solar idea. Ted"

"Two immediate thoughts, Ted: Why is it difficult to get power to the bath? While it might be helpful but isn't a solution, is the inside of your bath heat-absorbing black? Heating with solar isn't impossible but it's darn…"

"I have a thriving community of them here. At least 30-40. It appears if you keep feeding them they stick around. I tried some mixed seed and they showed zero interest. They want black oil sunflower seed ! As do the Chickadees and Grosbeaks."
