After seeing so many postings here on BirdingNB, NB Listserv, eBird and Twitter of Snowy Owl sightings, I made a map showing where they have been reported. Some of these may be the same owl showing up in another location, but where 2 or more are shown at one location they were seen at the same time. I'm going to keep updating the map as new sightings are reported, just for fun :) Feel free to let me know if I've missed any.

Thanks for the update Gilbert. I've added it to the map. Just wondering if anyone has seen the owls in Shediac, Caissie Cape, Cape Tormentine areas lately? They were some of the earliest reported. Wonder if they're sticking around or have moved on. Reports have slowed down a lot in the last two weeks, but the heavy snow cover probably has a lot to do with that.

New report for your map Anne:

An heavily streaked Snowy Owl was perched along Sand Cove Road in front of Irving Nature Park Children's Forest in Saint John West around 5 PM today January 5. First report on the west side of town as far as I know.

We sure are having quite a "snowy" winter. Once again, thanks so much for doing this, Anne.

This afternoon I drove from Saint John West to Quebec border. I was hoping to see at least one but did not locate any.
